Is this the same as MBTI®?
The four-letter codes will feel familiar — the typology itself is public domain, so we lean into it. SoulType pairs it with research instruments like the IPIP-NEO Big Five and the Jungian cognitive functions, and frames everything as a reflective tool, never a clinical diagnosis.
Does the AI need an internet connection?
Yes — the coach and report AI modules are online-only. A coach request includes your message, up to ten recent conversation messages, and a summary of your results. Report AI sends report facts. The configured AI provider processes each request; SoulType's server stores an account id and timestamp for free usage limits, not submitted content. Pro subscribers have no weekly cap.
What's actually free?
Every assessment in the app, the base report, the share cards, and twenty coach messages a week. The one-off unlocks and Pro add depth — they don't gate the essentials. See the full pricing.
What happens to my data?
Your answers, reports and stored coach history stay on your phone by default. Online AI requests send the content described above for processing; cloud sync and report sharing are opt-in. Publishing a share ID makes its included free report sections readable by anyone with the eight-character code. One tap in Settings deletes your device data and synced copies. Read the privacy policy.
Is there an Android version?
SoulType is available on iPhone, with Android planned. The app runs its paywall and accounts differently per platform — iPhone gets Sign in with Apple and StoreKit purchases.
